NH Lottery Forecasts 2025 NFL and NCAA Football Seasons Will Produce Record-Breaking Wagering

– On the back of more than 6.5 million wagers totaling $180 million during last football season, the New Hampshire Lottery is expecting record-breaking sports betting on professional and college football this year. Building off a record-breaking Fiscal Year 2025 for sports betting, New Hampshire Lottery expects the 2025-2026 NFL and NCAA football seasons to surpass last year’s betting totals after a fast start.

So far this season, New Hampshire bettors have made more than 85,000 wagers totaling more than $3.5 million on NFL and NCAA football. While the New England Patriots are not among the favorites for the Super Bowl nationally, New Hampshire players love their home team and are overwhelmingly picking the Patriots to win the Super Bowl—2.5 times more than the next closest team.

“The leaves are just starting to get ready to turn, and the weekend trips to our beautiful Granite State beaches and lakes are about to shift to our couches and local sportsbooks – football season is back,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “And, what’s a college football Saturday or NFL Sunday without a few wagers? Maybe it’s on the Patriots to win – hopefully more than last season – the Jets to lose, or for Drake Maye to have more than 300 yards passing. Whether our players like to bet on outright winners, overs and unders, or parlay them together, the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings are offering players an ever-expanding lineup of betting opportunities to spice up the football season. From preseason in August 2024 through the Super Bowl in February 2025, New Hampshire players wagered more than $180 million on the NFL and NCAA football from the first games in August 2024 through the national championship in January 2025.

Through the New Hampshire Lottery’s partnership with DraftKings, players can place a variety of bets before and during games, including against the spread, on the game winner, prop bets and more. Players can also explore a variety of parlay betting options, as well as betting on “futures,” such as picking the eventual Super Bowl winner or the eventual NCAA national champion.

And it will all be capped off in February with our biggest individual sports betting event of the year – the Super Bowl. New Hampshire bettors are favoring a Super Bowl matchup of the Buffalo Bills versus the Detroit Lions and for Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow to win MVP. Other popular New Hampshire bets include wagering on Patriots Running Back TreVeyon Henderson to win Rookie of the Year and for the Patriots to make it to the playoffs this year.

Looking at college, Granite State bettors are split between Clemson, Notre Dame, Texas and Penn State for their NCAA national championship pick, and their favorites to win the Heisman Trophy are South Carolina Quarterback LaNorris Sellers and Texas Quarterback Arch Manning.

Since the inception of sports betting in New Hampshire on December 30, 2019, Granite Staters have placed more than 107 million wagers totaling nearly $4 billion, which has generated more than $150 million to support public education.
