NH Lottery Expects $638 Million to be Up for Grabs in Tonight’s Powerball Drawing


Concord, NH – The Powerball jackpot is on the rise as the New Hampshire Lottery is anticipating the jackpot will jump to $638 million for tonight’s (9/18) drawing. The anticipated $638 million jackpot would be the 10th largest Powerball jackpot on record.The New Hampshire Lottery estimates the one-time cash payout will increase to $304.2 million. (Estimated jackpot amounts are determined before taxes are withheld.)

One lucky New Hampshire player purchased a $50,000 winning Powerball ticket for the drawing on Saturday (9/16). The player purchased the winning ticket at Cumberland Farms on Portsmouth Avenue in Greenland.

“It is an exciting time for New Hampshire players, as this Powerball jackpot cannot be stopped!” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “We love the excitement of a big jackpot as it provides a tremendous opportunity both for our players and for maximizing sales revenue for education in New Hampshire. Powerball drawing results from Saturday, September 16, were: 08-11-19-24-46 PB-5 with a Power Play of 2.

The $638 million Powerball jackpot has been growing since July 19, when a lucky California player purchased a $1 billion jackpot winning ticket. Since the drawing in July, there have been 26 consecutive Powerball drawings without a jackpot winner.

Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 PM.
