Combined Mega Millions and Powerball Jackpots Climb to $658 Million

The New Hampshire Lottery is announcing combined Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots will reach $658 million for drawings over the next two days. The New Hampshire Lottery is expecting the Mega Millions jackpot to jump to $405 million for Friday’s drawing, which would make it the eighth-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history. The New Hampshire Lottery is also expecting the Powerball jackpot to increase to $253 million for Saturday’s drawing. (Estimated jackpot amounts are determined before taxes are withheld.)

“There is nearly $660 million up for grabs over the next two days,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director, New Hampshire Lottery. “The anticipation for both of these games has been building for weeks and you can just feel the enthusiasm. Our retailers across the state are reporting that the pace of sales has picked up considerably over the past week. Players, you have two incredible opportunities to win over the next two days. The New Hampshire Lottery is anticipating the Mega Millions one-time cash payout will increase to $235 million for Friday’s drawing and the Powerball one-time cash payout will reach $148.4 million for Saturday’s drawing.

The Mega Millions drawing results from Tuesday, October 2, were: 2-22-29-31-34 MB-1 with a Megaplier of 3.

The Powerball drawing results from Wednesday, October 3, were: 41-53-59-63-66 PB-3 with a Power Play of 3.

The largest Mega Millions jackpot in history was $656 million, which three winners from Kansas, Illinois and Maryland shared in March 2012. This $405 million Mega Millions jackpot has been on the rise since July 24, when an 11-member office pool in California won a $543 million jackpot.

The largest Powerball jackpot on record was a $1.586 billion jackpot in January 2016—which remains a world-record as the largest lottery jackpot in history. This $253 million Powerball jackpot has been growing since August 11, when a $245.7 million winning ticket was sold in New York.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM and tickets are on sale until 9:50 PM Friday.

Powerball drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 PM ET.
