Concord, NH – With the Super Bowl matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers set for this Sunday, February 11, New Hampshire players have already placed more than 62,000 wagers on the game, totaling more than $1.6 million. As of Thursday, February 8, about 73% of New Hampshire players are betting in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs to win this year’s Super Bowl. Last year, New Hampshire players bet more than $9.2 million on this event.

“The Super Bowl stands as our most significant single sports betting event each year, playing a major role in our ongoing efforts to maximize revenue for New Hampshire public education,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “The Super Bowl is the perfect opportunity to explore the world of sports betting—there are so many fun ways to get a little skin in the game. Together with DraftKings, we are building strong betting momentum and we are expecting heavy betting throughout the weekend and right through the game on Sunday.”

In addition to betting on the game’s outcome and point spread, some of the most popular bets by New Hampshire players include betting on Christian McCaffrey to be the game’s MVP and betting over 47.5 points will be scored in the game, which 71% of New Hampshire bettors agree with. Players have also placed a number of prop bets, such as betting on the coin-toss, betting Travis Kelce will score a touchdown and betting on the first player to score a touchdown.

Recognizing Taylor Swift’s presence this year, DraftKings introduced a variety of Super Bowl Special Bets tailored ‘For the Swifties.’ Players can wager on outcomes and plays inspired by Taylor Swift, including ‘Déjà vu,’ where the Kansas City Chiefs are predicted to win by exactly 11 points as they did in Super Bowl LV against the San Francisco 49ers. Other choices include ‘Shake it off,’ with the San Francisco 49ers scoring the first touchdown but Kansas City Chiefs ultimately winning, and ‘Today is a Fairytale,’ with Travis Kelce scoring a touchdown and the game resulting a victory for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Since the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings launched mobile sports betting in New Hampshire on December 30, 2019, bettors have wagered more than $2.71 billion.
